On the day of the Scottish referendum

September 17, 2014  •  Leave a Comment
As a Londoner, Ukipper, father of Americans, and interested in the future of America and Britain which are now countries with significantly depraved electorates, I want Scotland, where I’ve often hiked and climbed and may one day choose to live, to become independent. The main effects will be:
1. England will become independent; 59 left-wing Scottish MPs seem to wield decisive influence over UK politics and it will be far more likely that England will leave the EU, a consummation devoutly to be wished.
2. Scotland will be forced to take responsibility for itself, instead of mooching off the rest of the country. If it persists in socialist dumkopfery for a while, a crisis will force a more entrepreneurial future on Adams Smith’s homeland.
A remoter effect may be to trigger a separatist wave all over Europe and the US. Good. Unless the strong Federalism of the Founders can be re-established to rein back the US government to its enumerated powers, it will not remain viable for the many healthy parts of the US to be governed by the diseased administration of such as Obama, Reid and Pelosi.
Today’s vote may have an historic significance undreamed of by the political pygmies infesting our lives.

“If language is not correct, then what is said is not what is meant; if what is said is not what is meant, then what must be done remains undone; if this remains undone, morals and art will deteriorate; if justice goes astray, the people will stand about in helpless confusion. Hence there must be no arbitrariness in what is said. This matters above everything.”

"Football" v soccer

" is a Euro-commie-socialist sport"

Effete soccer players like moi enjoy this affectation that soccer is unAmerican and wussyworthy.
1. Soccer's the #1 participation sport in the US;
1a. it occurs to me that the US is the #1 soccer-playing nation on earth by numbers and that your society has been overrun by us soccer zombies;
2. Man U and Liverpool are American businesses;
3. "football" is about the most wussified, gay piece of anaerobic prancing around in body-armour that a pansy fashion designer could dream up;
4. the NFL is heavily subsidized by your commie governments, while UK pro soccer is a free market business;
5. for God's sake, there's just no comparison between the masculinity of rugby and "football”. Rugby v football = cauliflower ears v cauliflower brains.
Can you hear me under your helmet? Can you see me thru the visors and pompoms? Oh, you don't actually play "football"? Pourquoi? Anyway when I drive around Houston or New York or New Jersey, I see mostly soccer pitches, except in some schools where the football pitches are heavily subscribed by middle aged men like me playing soccer despite the weird pitch markings.
Look, hate soccer if it helps you feel virile ogling cheerleaders on tv with your beer on your belly, but check out rugby if you prefer a flowing battle of unarmored men of various sizes to a sporadic clash of prettied-up, cookie-cutter robots who need new instructions and a cuddle every 15 seconds.

A comment on big law, big regulation, and big government

Americans in general don't realize the fear and loathing felt by international business towards America's legal and regulatory monsters. US residents and US jurisdiction are routinely shunned.

Obamacare will be cited for centuries as the locus classicus of big government at work with virtually unlimited time and money. But don't forget the even funnier case of the schizophrenic signer gesticulating in faux Zulu beside Obama and the other bigwigs at Mandela's funeral. The Obaman retinue floats down into South Africa aboard the Imperial Intergalactic Airfleet with redundant everything and bodyguards for the bodyguards; the NSA blankets the entire electromagnetic spectrum; humungous resources are applied to modest risks ...and yet...Monty Python never constructed a more hilarious scenario....the Grand Poobah of Cool doing his teleprompter thing to sanctify a dead terrorist, while the superbly distracting and distracted signer with violent hallucinations does his pc thing to show the world how inclusive of deaf Zulus are the Poobahs....signifying nothing, but signifying everything.
